About the team

Deloitte’s Risk Advisory department are expanding their Data Privacy capabilities to meet the growing Data Privacy demands of its clients. The Data Privacy team of Deloitte Risk Advisory offers a variety of services designed to support our clients across their entire personal data landscape from compliance to operationalisation to remediation. Based on unprecedented demands for our services and the rapid increase in Data Privacy demands, we are looking to recruit an individual at Manager level to join our expanding team in our Dublin office.

The Opportunity

Deloitte has an excellent career opportunity for a Data Privacy control specialist at a Manager grade to work in the Risk Advisory department of our Dublin offices. It may also involve travel within Ireland and internationally.

Working as a Manager on data privacy engagements you will be involved in:

Managing a variety of data privacy client engagements, including:

  • Data Protection assessments/gap analysis and assessing controls across the lifecycle of personal data
  • Advising organisations on Data Protection best practice and leading data protection advisory engagements including but not limited to delivering policies/procedures, training/awareness, records of processing/lifecycles, control re-design to clients
  • Supporting clients across end-to-end data retention projects
  • Advising and supporting clients in their Privacy by Design efforts
  • Advising on Third Party management
  • Support and completion of DPIAs across multi-disciplinary clients and client systems
  • Desire to work in a constantly changing environment as part of a team of Data Privacy specialists.
  • Ideally extensive client facing Big 4 experience in the provision of Data Privacy Services for 4-5 years or industry experience leading a team in the provision of data privacy compliance challenges.
  • Ability to manage a number of projects, meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Extensive knowledge of Data Privacy requirements and Data Privacy good practice.
  • Strong experience in leading meetings with clients, understanding and mapping data flows and identifying risks.
  • Ability to think beyond baseline compliance to supporting a particular business need and the data privacy requirements.
  • Ability to understand the technical implications of data privacy with a good technical skill-set across various technologies and platforms and how to apply privacy by design.
  • Ideally has a Data Protection related professional certification such as CIPP, or a Privacy Engineering background, however this is not a must.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
