Cyber Security Engineer

A top South Dublin client are currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a good technical knowledge across an array of areas; network, system and application security.

Experience Required

  • Good working knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, BGP and other routing protocols)
  • Savvy scripter in one or more of the common languages (e.g., Python, Ruby or Shell)
  • Demonstrated background with security monitoring and alerting systems, and hands on experience with rule management and regex.
  • Skilled with the utilization of threat modelling or other risk identification techniques
  • Background in arranging and/or reviewing the security of systems accordingly with a development team
  • Ability to execute security reviews to identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and negotiate with internal customers on risk assessment, threat modelling, code review, and vulnerability remediation
  • A strong understanding of developing secure architectures
  • Produce and decipher security policies and procedures
  • Ability to asses and suggest new and emerging security products and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and distribute training materials and achieve a general security awareness and specific security technology training·
  • The ideal candidate will join in on security compliance efforts
  • They will also engage in security escalations support

Essential and Desirable Skills

  • 2-3+ years of experience in application, secure software or system design
  • 2-3+ years of experience in a development or security role working with development team(s) that delivered commercial software or software-based services
  • CISSP / CISM Certified is essential
  • Great communication skills across various
  • Third level degree in computer science, programming or related field
  • Logical thinker with a strong attention to detail
  • OSCP, CREST Security Certifications are highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s Degree or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong background of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing
