We're seeking a Compliance, Vice President within The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (“GFCC”) Anti Money Laundering (“AML”) Investigations Team, which is responsible for identification and reporting of suspicious transactions. The team investigates AML cases for Europe, Middle East & Africa (“EMEA”) booked business to support decision making in regard of filing Suspicious Activity Reports to law enforcement.
Responsibilities:
The Complex AML Investigations Team manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day to day activities of the team, including:
- Direct management of related Investigators, whose role is principally to support the review of Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing related escalation across Lines of Business, MLRO’s, Law Enforcement and other internal and external referral sources.
- Responsibility for ongoing development of a team of AML SME’s including recruitment, training and development of team members, conducting performance appraisals, quality assurance, productivity reviews identifying improvement areas, and providing coaching as necessary.
- Responsibility and accountability for the quality, timeliness and accuracy of the teams Investigations, including the presentation of cases to the weekly EMEA Anti Money Laundering Monitoring Committee (“AMLMC”) meeting with relevant country Money Laundering Reporting Officers (“MLROs”).
- Ensure that area operates a sound control environment, procedures are followed and local standards and Firmwide policies are met
- Build a strong working relationship with key internal partners who are part of the end to end AML Investigations and Monitoring program, based across multiple locations and time zones.
- Escalation point for enquiries and issues raised by internal stakeholders across various Lines of Business, Compliance or other teams.
- Analysis and improvement of processes, procedures and controls using metrics, key risk indicators and results of quality assurance. Review the results of the same with senior management and colleagues in other Compliance teams globally as required
- Play an active and positive role in the EMEA AML Investigations leadership team and other broader GFCC functions regionally and globally
- Lead and/or participate in various projects and other performance improvement initiatives as required
- Demonstrate and leverage a detailed knowledge of AML and CTF risks in order to support and respond to ad hoc queries raised by internal stakeholders, external bodies and Law Enforcement
- Play lead role within EMEA AML Investigations to drive technology development across Financial Crimes Investigation Portal (“FCIP”) quarterly releases and strategic programs.
- Share knowledge and experience through briefings, presentations and written products.

- Demonstrate the ability to partner with stakeholders on projects
- Detail-oriented; possess a high-level of attention to detail and quality for their work product
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience using the MS Suite of products
- Ability to work both independently and as a core team member
- Proven leadership and people management skills, in an operations / risk / controls function required
- Relevant experience of Compliance activities particularly in relation to AML highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required or evidence of comparable academic / work achievement
- Ability to manage own and teams prioritisation, working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated skills in risk assessment. The ability to make sound decisions, including escalation when appropriate, in regard of AML/CFT risks
- Problem management skills
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication and organization skills
- Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
- Proven in-depth PC skills, good working knowledge of excel/access/VBA would be advantageous.
- Desirable to have skill in Central European Language ( written ), preferably German
