Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software based on user stories and requirements.
  • Work with the team to design solutions
  • Write clean and reusable code
  • Revise, update and refactor code where applicable.
  • Advocate for quality in both development and testing

About you:

  • 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer
  • Either in JavaScript/TypeScript experience OR Java, ideally some of that working on a SaaS product.
  • Practises of monitoring and debugging distributed systems
  • Agile processes, SCRUM and/or Kanban
  • Experience using DevOps practices on the full development lifecycle.

Our ideal candidate would also have some of these:

  • AWS knowledge (Here’s some services we use: api gateway, lambda, fargate, dynamoDB, IAM, cloudwatch, SQS, SNS)
  • API best practices
  • Experience with RESTful APIs & graphQL
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Technology community involvement e.g. conferences, meetups, blogging, etc.
  • History of continually learning and adapting to the latest trends and technology
  • Great communication skills which you use to work with the wider team and department.
