The Opportunity

This role is full time and permanent and open to remote opportunities across the UK and Ireland.

Our partner, Four Winds Interactive seeks an Automation QA Engineer to work with the Quality Assurance Engineering team. This position will perform product testing and uphold agreed upon quality standards in order to provide the highest quality software products. 

The Automation QA Engineer works with the QA Director and automation team to provide guidance for automation strategy for our products and applications. This role will evaluate and test new or modified software to determine that software meets user requirements and established quality standards and provides mentoring or guidance to less experienced peers in automation testing. The Automation QA Engineer will report to the QA Director and this position is not a management position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set an example in integrity, sense of responsibility, emphasis on quality, discipline and sense of teamwork to other QA Engineers
  • Set up and maintain automation test environment
  • Write and continuously update test scripts using industry standard automation test tools
  • Execute tests to identify performance, browser compatibility, security and other pertinent issues and collaborate with the developers to resolve them before release
  • Work closely with the team to ensure issues/defects are dealt with in a timely and professional manner 
  • Troubleshoot defects and manage defect tracking and resolution processes so that a consistent, documented process is used and followed
  • Install applications in the physical and virtualized environment
  • Mentor and educate QA associates who have minimal automation experience
  • Perform other tasks (e.g., manual testing) as necessary

Candidate Expertise Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in automation testing
  • Extensive experience in automation testing of web applications using standard automation tools (e.g., Selenium, REST-assured, etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding or practical skills in programming
  • Strong knowledge of QA concepts and methodology
  • Experience using issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA)
  • Experience using test case management tools (e.g., PractiTest)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, including the ability to solve complex problems in the face of time pressure and information/resource constraints
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced and somewhat chaotic environment and manage continuously changing business needs; excellent multi-tasking and time management skills required
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills

Our idea candidate would also have:

  • Experience with Selenium, REST-assured, TestNG, Maven, Extent Reports, Bitbucket
  • Experience creating test automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with ReactJS, NodeJS, and TypeScript
  • Knowledge in security testing of web applications
  • Knowledge or Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) desired include: EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, Elastic IPs, EBS, Security Groups, and VPC
  • Experience using Four Winds software and/or understanding of the Digital Signage Industry/Market
