Associate Director

The Revenue Projections and Insights team focus on risk adjustment revenue projections and run different programs on behalf of clients to pull medical records in order to predict and obtain client revenue expectations.

This role will support machine learning to estimate for different programs and different clients what the likely revenue will be for the programs’ performance. The team is expanding into machine learning tools and forecasting tools to estimate quality delivery standards.

As a key member of the Risk and Quality (RQ) team, you will work within the Ireland Optum Actuarial ecosystem. You will encounter great opportunities to enhance and develop your skills through some or all the following activities: 

  • Assist in the design and implementation of complex actuarial projects with particular focus on modelling and reporting frameworks  
  • Support the maintenance and updating of existing machine learning models to produce disease prevalence assumptions  
  • Assist in the development of actuarial projection models for retrospective and prospective programs  
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of actuarial data architecture   
  • Support a multi-disciplined team of talented data modelers, actuarial specialists, and analytics experts  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the risk adjustment models across lines of business  
  • Coordinate with teams in multiple locations to drive paradigm shifting service modelling  
  • Maintain the necessary communication and coordination with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients  
  • Mentor and support team members in the management of their assigned areas to ensure that their responsibilities and performance are met in a way that is consistent with established policies and programs   

Required Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland, or the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent body, with PQE.
  • Exposure to one or more of the following tools: R, Python or SQL  
  • Strong communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience of leading actuarial projects
  • US Healthcare experience
  • Evidence of problem-solving aptitude
