About the Role/ The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a developer that is thrilled about coding in Java to support our technical vision and join our talented cross functional team! You will drive innovation and build new features. You’ll work with the latest technologies, frameworks, and tools like Scala, Spark, AWS, Kafka and more to create new products and convert/expand functionality in new and pre-existing applications.

You have an eye for detail, work well with others, and easily grasp a system which extends over multiple platforms and sites. You will implement new core components of our platform and help scale our development processes. You will help drive strategic decisions around technology as well as be hands-on in the development of major software systems.  You and your team will be responsible for building the services and datastores that enable us to build highly scalable services.

What You’ll Do:

• Build highly scalable and resilient, globally distributed, microservices-based web applications
• Develop new features, discuss, and design software architecture with a motivated and experienced team
• Research new technologies and tools to improve business processes
• Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
• Give helpful, constructive feedback through code reviews
• Proactively identify and drive changes as needed for assigned codebase, product area and/or systems

What You Need to Succeed:

• At least 5 years of proven experience in writing and deploying production code
• Deep experience with application development using Java and Scala libraries
• Experience with data modeling and data storage formats
• Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, passion for innovation, a solid understanding of software engineering, and a willingness to work in a highly collaborative Agile
• Passionate for quality, good design and clean code
• Experience working in a DevOps culture, and in a cloud-based ecosystem

Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:

• You possess a proactive attitude, and you are solution minded
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience
