Job Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Software Developer to join us in our fast paced changing organisation.  You will be responsible for working on our internal software solutions, building on existing functionality and creating new applications.

You will work with the development team writing software solutions to business requirements in line with the agreed design strategy and deliver IT projects to plan while minimising risk and disruption to the business. You will also work to user requirements to meet the needs of the business via our in-house software solutions.  This will involve both windows and web development with a requirement to support mobile devices and possibly offline solutions too.

Our successful candidate will have extensive knowledge in Winforms. Excellent communication skills are also key to this role to build professional relationships.  

Key Responsibilities

•Participating in the full development life cycle within the existing application.
•Working with a structured environment to solve user issues and correct any related code.
•Taking a creative role in the redevelopment of the application to improve end user experience and optimisation of the application infrastructure.
•Providing documentation at all stages of the development life cycle to allow the functionality to be easily understood by other team members.
•Working with the contract delivery teams to write specifications for new projects.
•Prioritising support issues to resolve within SLA
•Upholding and complying with Data Protection and confidentiality standards.
•Ensuring best practice is adhered to and championed

Skills and Experience

Essential
•Object orientated programming experience
•Ability to write code to interact with various API’s to integrate multiple systems 
•Experience working with systems where security is a primary consideration, knowledge of XSS, SQL Injection, SSL, Role Based Authorisation
•Highly experienced in the following:
•Visual Studio IDE using VB.NET, C# and .NET.
•Good experience with Windows Forms
•SQL Server.
•Entity Framework
•Ability to work with an existing team of developers or individually on specific tasks
•Accurate documentation skills
•Highly self-motivated

DESIRABLE
•Commercial experience in a similar environment.
•Ability to work alone for long periods unsupervised
•Understanding of DevOps within an Azure environment
•Experience of .NET Core for potential migration in the future
